Windows 11 22H2 comes with new features, and you want to upgrade your Windows 11 to this version. If your computer meets the requirement to install Windows 11, you can do an in-place upgrade easily following this post.
In-place upgrade to Windows 11
But if your computer doesn’t meet the requirements. After download Windows 11 ISO from Microsoft, you do an in-place upgrade process. You would get the following error. In some cases, you would get the error the CPU doesn’t supported to install Windows 11.
You will get the above warning if you upgrade to Windows 11 from ISO image directly. Of course, if you do a clean installation of Windows 11. You can bypass all requirements easily following this post. But we want to in-place upgrade to the latest Windows 11 version instead of a clean installation.
In this post, we’ll upgrade to Windows 11 22H2 from a Windows 11 computer without TPM chip, Secure Boot and running with Unsupported CPU.
Upgrade to Windows 11 without any requirements
2️⃣ Download the latest version of Rufus. (You just need download the portable version for one time use).
3️⃣ Insert a USB stick (with at least 8GB of storage) into your computer or if you don’t have any USB drive, you can create a virtual USB drive on your Windows.
4️⃣ Open the Rufus app | Select your USB device | Select the downloaded Windows 11 22H2 ISO and leave all settings as default then click Start button.
As you can see in the below screenshot, I’ve using a virtual USB drive. Because we want to upgrade Windows instead of reinstall Windows, so we don’t need a real USB stick.
5️⃣ A new window aperea, make sure you’ve selected the checkbox Remove requirement for 4GB+ RAM, Secure Boot and TPM.
6️⃣ Once done, you can see the virtual USB device is mounted into your computer as a local drive.
7️⃣ Now, open your USB drive then run the setup.exe to upgrade your Windows to Windows 11 22H2.
As you can see, all apps and your personal files are kept when upgraded to Windows 11.
8️⃣ The requirements should be gone, and you can upgrade your Windows to Windows 11 without any restrictions.
Additionally, you can delete the virtual disk to free up your disk space, you no longer need it.
